Target Group
This course is suitable for individuals who would
like to have their computer skills certified at an
officially recognised level. Candidates need to have
a basic working knowledge of computers. Typing skills
are not required but would be hugely advantageous.
21st Century offer an excellent preparatory ECDL
course for those with less computer experience.

Course Overview
21st Century offer one standard ECDL course of 14
mornings or evenings.
Certification
ECDL Certificate
This is recognised both in Europe and internationally.
The international version of the same certificate
is called ICDL, International Computer Driving Licence.
This certificate verifies your standard of computer
skills to existing and future employers.
Duration
21st Century offer a variety of ECDL courses of training
both during the day and in the evenings. Custom designed
courses of training or simply exam preparation for
both groups and individuals are also offered on request.

Course Content
The ECDL course consists of 7 core modules covering
the fundamental areas in desktop computers today:
- Word Processing (Word)
- Spreadsheets (Excel)
- Database (Access)
- Presentation (PowerPoint)
- Managing Files (Windows)
- IT -Theory
- Internet & Email
An exam has to be taken in all seven modules. These
can be sat in any order or as many times as required
within 3 years of the first exam taken. 21st Century
work with each module individually, providing tuition
and administering the exam before moving on to the
next module. We also strongly recommend taking all
7 modules/exams as a course unit.
Microsoft Office
This course concentrates on giving candidates
a solid grounding in the important basic features
of working with computer programmes, e.g. saving,
opening, printing, basic formatting. Also candidates
are trained in 3 of the areas necessary to attain
ECDL certification -Word, Excel and Internet &
Email.
Outcome
On completion of this course you will have attained
a benchmark standard in the use of the common computer
applications. You will possess a certificate to verify
this standard to your current or future employer.
An ideal follow on to this course is the new Advanced
ECDL. Depending on your performance in exam situations,
the Microsoft MOUS qualification could also prove
an ideal follow-on to this course.

Each Training programme will
have a minimum Deposit required to confirm booking
on the course. Full payment for the course is due
prior to commencement of the course or on the first
night of the course. Cancellation - If you cancel
the course 1 week in advance we will refund your deposit.
If cancellation is received less than one week in
advance of the course commencing, a refund will be
dependant on our ability to fill your place on the
course. Please note that the ability to replace you
on a course is not guaranteed and subsequently the
ability to offer a refund is not guaranteed. Once
you have commenced the course no refund will be available.
