Intended for absolute beginners with no
previous knowledge of computers, this course will train
you in the basics of using a computer. The course is designed
to give students an overall background to computers, opening
the door for students to do any other course of their
choice. This programme is developed by ICS Skills, the
organisation responsible for ECDL in Ireland.
Course Overview
Participants will be:
Introduced to the Mouse & Keyboard
Introcuded to Document Management in Windows
Trained to use the basic features in Microsoft Word
Introduced to the various services and uses of the Internet
Trained to send and recieve emails
Certification
On completion of the course, which is based
on continuous assessment using a simple step-by-step workbook,
individuals will receive Equalskills certification, a
standard that Irish employers are becoming increasingly
aware of.
Outcome
On course completion participants will have
a certificate proving the level of computer skills they
have attained. They will be familiar with the basic steps
involved in working a computer and be able to create documents
using Microsfot Word. Participants will be able to send
and receive e-mails and visit websites.
